WMMSC Basic Philosophy
Our Philosophy is to provide middle school students the opportunity to participate in an interscholastic athletic setting under the philosophies and guidelines outlined below:
|
Benefits |
Participation |
The goal of each school is to work with all students of different skill levels to develop their talents, and allow them to receive the positive benefits of the interscholastic athletics with the rules and regulations of MHSAA
"A" and "B"The "A" and "B" concept with better athletes on one team and the remaining athletes on the other team(s) will be used. Sports to be included will be Boys and Girls Basketball and Girls Volleyball. It is a recommendation that the teams have a minimum 12 players per team.
|
Any student who meets the regulations of their school and MHSAA shall have the opportunity to participate on an interscholastic athletic team without being "cut" from the team due to size or ability, if withing the school's resources to do so
Each participant will have a guaranteed amount of participation time, as designed in each sport philosophy SportsmanshipGood sportsmanship by both coaches and players should be exemplified at all time.
|
there is (at least) as much potential for school-based sports to benefit both kids and their schools at the junior high/middle school level as at the high school.
